CHNI and RIS are pleased to announce an online hostel vacancy system for Northern Ireland!
This new online vacancy system, funded by NIHE, set up by Resource Information Service (RIS) and run on an ongoing basis by Council for the Homeless Northern Ireland, will help directly with referrals, and produce key information about levels of vacancies to help identify gaps in provision and for policy purposes.
The main objective of the project is to improve the lives of homeless people and those at risk of homelessness by helping them to get appropriate accommodation and support, and to enable agencies to provide high quality advice and referral services.
The system will include live information about hostel vacancies to this existing site so that agencies can quickly find a suitable place for their homeless clients. As such, it has the potential to have a radical impact on helping agencies make efficient and appropriate referrals to hostels, and homeless people getting the accommodation and support they need.
CHNI will be contacting agencies directly within the next few months to provide training, and ongoing support on how to use the system.
