This training from NICVA and the Equality Commission on 27 February 2008 will give an overview of the main responsibilities placed on employers and employees through the current framework of equal opportunity legislation in Northern Ireland. By the end of the workshop the attendees should be aware of:
- The groups protected under employment equality legislation in Northern Ireland
- The key elements of this legislation
- The responsibilities placed on both employers and employees under this legislation

This seminar would be suitable for members of the voluntary sector seeking an introduction to equality law. Common themes such as direct and indirect discrimination will be explored as well as the unique requirements of Northern Ireland’s Fair Employment Legislation.
