Homeless Northern Ireland is a major source of information about a wide range of services for people in need and that agencies can refer clients to. For the first time, Homeless Northern Ireland (www.homelessni.org) provides detailed information in one place about over 380 services that can help people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or in need of accommodation and support.
Homeless Northern Ireland provides full details of advice services, Housing Executive offices, floating support, hostels and supported housing for homeless people. It also gives details of other services (eg CABx and Jobcentres) and signposting services for particular client groups who need advice on housing and support. To get started, simply visit the site and click on Search all services under the Find a Service menu. By using Homeless Northern Ireland, you can also find over 8,000 services in the rest of the UK and visit similar sites in Dublin and Cork. For further details, see the attached information sheet.
This website is funded by the Big Lottery Fund Northern Ireland, and developed by Resource Information Service (RIS) in partnership with Council for the Homeless Northern Ireland. RIS (www.ris.org.uk) is a charity that specialises in publishing high quality websites, directories and information systems that help people in need in the UK and Ireland.
As you also know, CHNI recently re-developed its own website (www.chni.org.uk). The site signposts those experiencing housing difficulties / homelessness to appropriate services, as well as providing you, as service providers, with access to a wide selection of information, ranging from HR & governance through to research and practitioner issues.
Homeless Northern Ireland and CHNI's website will be formally launched on Thursday 26th April 2007 and we will send out further details about this and the website in due course. In the meantime, CHNI and RIS welcome your feedback about the site by using the Give feedback feature on RIS site or by contacting George at CHNI, 90246440, click here to email.
