The NJC salary scales for 2008/09 are not yet available and are unlikely to be published for some time. The Unions have lodged a pay claim for an increase of 6% or 50p an hour (whichever is the greater). Local Government Employers have offered 2.2%.
New scales will not be available until these negotiations are complete. NICVA is not involved in these negotiations in any way but we will publish the updated salary scales as they become available.

- Statutory Maternity/ Adoption/ Paternity pay will rise to £117.18 from 1 April 2008.
- Statutory Sick Pay will rise to £75.40 from 6 April 2008.
- National Minimum Wage. From 1 October 2008 anyone aged 22 years and above will be entitled to £5.73 per hour, an increase of 21p. Workers aged 18 to 21 will be entitled to £4.77 per hour, an increase of 17p and those aged 16 and 17 will be entitled to £3.53 per hour, an increase of 13p per hour.
