Building on the success of the Get Heard project, in which many groups will have taken part. It will bring together people who have experience of poverty with people who make decisions and implement policies designed to tackle poverty and social exclusion. It will be about how we can reduce poverty and inequality in the UK.
NI Anti-Poverty Network (NIAPN) want to make sure that you get the chance to help decide what will get talked about during the conference. We also want to make sure that you get the support that you need to be able to take part.
There will be preparatory events held in early June in the different regions of the UK, in Northern Ireland the NI Anti-Poverty Network will be organising this meeting. The date for our meeting is 10.30 on Friday 1st June @ NIAPN offices, 58 Howard Street, Belfast.
As places for the conference are limited, not everyone who attends the preparatory event will necessarily be able to attend the conference. It will, however, give people the chance to help decide what will get talked about during the conference and discuss the support people will need to be able to take part. NIAPN also want to hear from people who can’t make it along to the conference but are interested in it. Please let NIAPN know if your group would like to hold a discussion about the themes of the conference.
If you know of any groups that would be interested in taking part, or if you have any questions, please contact Frances Dowds, Director, NIAPN @ T: 028 9024 4525 Email: frances@niapn.org
Project partners: NI Anti-Poverty Network; UK Coalition Against Poverty; ATD 4th World; OXGAM GB; Joseph Rowntree Foundation; Scottish Poverty Alliance; Anti-Poverty Network Cmyru; EAPN England
