26th August 2008; letter from NI Anti-Poverty Network
Dear NIAPN Member
‘Save the Network campaign’
The Northern Ireland Anti-Poverty Network (NIAPN) was established in 1991 to create a focus on poverty, in what is still one of the most disadvantaged areas in the UK. A dedicated organisation with an exclusive focus on poverty we work with all groups and communities experiencing poverty.
As the cost of living continues to rise, paying bills and putting food on the table has never been harder. As financial hardship increases there are many, basically 1 in 20 households who live on less than £100 per week. There has never been a greater need for the work of the network to lobby, campaign and represent the issues that matter to disadvantaged communities, rural and urban, yet sadly NIAPN finds itself facing a funding crisis. If we go who will work with and advocate on behalf of the poor across NI?
You can show your support for the Network by attending the launch of our ‘Save the Network Campaign’ being held on:
Friday 12th September 2008 from 10-12.30pm (lunch provided) at:
the Unison offices, Unit 4, Galway House, 165 York Street, Belfast BT15 1AL.
Please contact the NIAPN office to book. Alternatively please find attached members letter with suggestions as to how you can demonstrate your support.
Many thanks
