Qualified as a social worker, she had her first experience of working with homeless people on placement with a night shelter in Belfast. Since then Ricky has had a continuing interest in highlighting the need for adequate resources for the sector and a better understanding of the problems of homelessness. She has over a decade’s experience working for a Housing association as a senior Housing officer in interface communities.
She currently sits on a number of policy and practice working groups including the NI Homelessness Strategy Steering Group, the Supporting People Implementation Steering Groups. Ricky is a board member of NI Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders (NIACRO), and joint Chair of the Committee Representing Independent Supporting People Providers (CRISPP).
